PLAIN DEALING — Vandals are spiking roads to hunting camps in north Bossier Parish, damaging more than 20 tires, sheriffs deputies said.

They have also stolen and damaged deer cameras, vandalized deer stands and burglarized camp sites, deputies said.

The vandalism started last year in the Plain Dealing area.

Deputies said spikes made of files, bolts and flat bits of metal welded in a cross shape and sharpened at one end are left on the ground or buried sharp end up.

No one has been injured, deputies said, but the spikes can hurt anyone who steps on one, deputies said.

The vandalisms have happened around Burnt Pine Hunting Club on Old Plain Dealing Road, Four ?N? Hunting Club on Highway 160 and on private land near Peace Lane and Hope Lane.

Anyone with information about the vandalisms is asked to contact the Bossier Sheriff?s Department at 318-965-2203 or Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100. Crime Stoppers is offering a $350 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
