Hog and coyote helicopter hunting legal in Texas

Flying at a high speed a mere 50 feet from the ground and firing
a semi automatic weapon is now legal in Texas, if your target is a
feral hog.
Governor Rick Perry signed what that has been called the “pork
chopper bill” into law, making it legal to hunt wild hogs from a
helicopter. As of Sept. 1, hunters can lease helicopter services to
hunt feral hogs from the air. Under this law an aerial hunting
company may obtain a permit from the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department (TPWD) to use a helicopter for the purpose of managing
feral hog populations. The fee for this permit is $210 per year.
The hunting company then contracts with landowners, who file an
authorization to manage these animals by aircraft with TPWD.
