Food Trucks Rolling Into Dallas Arts District

Dallas Arts District pedestrians will soon hear and smell the sizzle of gourmet meals served from food trucks.
As expected, the City Council approved a change Wednesday that allows the mobile restaurants into the arts district.
We feel that is a strong component to making a lively district, said Veletta Lill, executive director of Dallas Arts District, a nonprofit that advocates for the district. This is a small business opportunity, too and for us to get different kinds of options. Were looking at somebody who wants to do a Vietnamese fusion truck and those kinds of things.
However, the ordinance forces food trucks to move every hour. The City Council is working on removing the requirement.
Michael Siegel, who parks his Green House food truck in a University Park shopping center, said he always had his eyes set on the Dallas Arts District.
